Each Extreme Immune Support Patch Contains:

Vitamin C (as Ascorbic Acid): Vitamin C, or ascorbic acid, is a water-soluble vitamin well known for its role in supporting a healthy immune system. Because your body cannot make vitamin C, it must come from the foods you eat every day. Though it may not keep you from catching a cold, there is some evidence that high doses of vitamin C may decrease the length of cold symptoms by as much as one to one-and-a-half days for some people.

Vitamin D3 (as Cholecalciferol): There are Vitamin D receptors and activating enzymes on the surfaces of all White Blood Cells. The role that vitamin D plays in helping the immune system healthy is very complex because the immune system must be perfectly balanced. If there is too much stimulation, autoimmune diseases can set in. If there is not enough immune system activity, frequent infections can occur. Low levels of vitamin D have been linked with both extremes, and low levels of vitamin D have been associated with worsening autoimmune diseases. Low levels of vitamin D are not the underlying cause of the autoimmune disease, but low levels of vitamin D can make autoimmune disease states worse.
Low levels of vitamin D have also been associated with frequent infections. In 2009, the National Institute of Health warned that low vitamin D levels are associated with frequent colds and influenza.

Vitamin B6 (as Pyridoxine HCl): Vitamin B6 is one of the B vitamins that benefits the central nervous system. It is involved in producing the neurotransmitters serotonin and norepinephrine, and in forming myelin. Vitamin B6 is an intriguing micronutrient that mediates numerous metabolic processes in vivo including amino acid metabolism, gluconeogenesis, lipid metabolism, and nervous system development and functioning. Vitamin B6 has been implicated in the regulation of immune responses that are associated with a wide range of diseases, including inflammation and various cancers. Previous studies suggested that vitamin B6 deficiency could impair immune responses. B6 is vital to supporting biochemical reactions in the immune system. Vitamin B6 deficiency is a very common phenomenon, especially among women of childbearing age as well as the elderly.

Zinc (as Zinc Citrate): Zinc is an essential trace element that plays an important role in many physiological functions. One of the key functions of zinc is its influence on the immune system. Zinc is required for the development and functioning of immune cells in the innate and the adaptive immune system. Zinc homeostasis is finely controlled within each cell and any deregulation results in impairment of normal functions. Consequences of impaired homeostasis can be observed in many disease models such as infections, allergies, autoimmune diseases, and cancers. Zinc deficiency negatively influences the hematopoiesis and compromises the immune response at multiple molecular, cellular, and systemic levels.

Copper (as Copper Gluconate): Too little copper can lead to neutropenia. This is a deficiency of white blood cells, or neutrophils, which fight off infection. A person with a low level of neutrophils is more likely to get an infectious disease.

Selenium (as Methylselenocysteine): Dietary selenium (Se) is an essential micronutrient that affects various aspects of human health, including optimal immune responses. Through its incorporation into selenoproteins, Se is involved in regulating oxidative stress, redox, and other crucial cellular processes in nearly all tissues and cell types, including those involved in innate and adaptive immune responses. A number of studies in agricultural animals have provided insight into the effects of Se deficiency or Se supplementation on immune responses. In most cases, these studies have demonstrated an enhancement of both cell-mediated and humoral immune responses by increasing levels of Se intake. In experimental animal studies, Se-deficiency has been shown to result in less robust immune responses to viruses, tumors, and allergens, compared to Se-adequate controls.

AHCC (Active Hexose Correlated Compound):  AHCC is a standardized extract of cultured shiitake or Lentinulaedodes mycelia (ECLM) which contains a mixture of nutrients including oligosaccharides, amino acids, and minerals obtained through liquid culture. AHCC® is reported to modulate the numbers and functions of immune cells including natural killer (NK) and T cells which play important roles in host defense, suggesting the possible implication of its supplementation in defending the host against infections and malignancies via modulating the immune system. Here, we review in vivo and in vitro effects of AHCC on NK and T cells of humans and animals in health and disease, providing a platform for the better understanding of immune-mediated mechanisms and clinical implications of AHCC.

Black Elderberry Extract (Sambucus Nigra):  Black elderberry extracts and flower infusions have been shown to reduce the severity and length of influenza. One study of 60 people with influenza found that those who took 15 ml of elderberry syrup four times per day showed symptom improvement in two to four days, while the control group took seven to eight days to improve

Another study of 64 people found that taking 175-mg elderberry extract lozenges for two days resulted in significant improvement in flu symptoms, including fever, headache, muscle aches and nasal congestion, after just 24 hours. Furthermore, a study of 312 air travelers taking capsules containing 300 mg of elderberry extract three times per day found that those who got sick experienced a shorter duration of illness and less severe symptoms

NAC (N-Acetyl-L-Cysteine): NAC has been used orally for over 50 years in a multitude of clinical investigations and human trials, including as an antidote against toxins and poisoning as well as against diseases such as cardiovascular disease, metabolic diseases, pulmonary diseases and cancer. Immune responses include early responses (inflammation) from innate cells such as neutrophils, macrophages/monocytes and dendritic cells.  In fact, in normal individuals, inflammation is a rapid response to danger signals resulting from infections and/or cellular damage. Later immune responses (that are linked with early responses) involve adaptive immunity and include lymphocyte responses (T cell and antibody responses). NAC can restore levels of GSH, which is essential for many activities of the immune system including T cell proliferation, the phagocytosis (engulfment and breakdown of foreign substances including microbes) functions of neutrophils, dendritic cell functions and the first step of adaptive immunity (antigen presentation).

Echinacea Root Extract (Echinacea Angustifolia): Echinacea has a complex mix of active substances, some of which are said to be antimicrobial, while others are believed to have an effect on the human immune system. All species of this herbal remedy have compounds called phenols. Many plants contain phenols, active substances that control the activity of a range of enzymes and cell receptors and protect the plant from infections and ultraviolet (UV) radiation damage. Phenols have antioxidant properties, which may be good for human health.Echinacea also contains alkylamides or alkamides, (not in Echinacea pallida), which have an effect on the immune system, as well as polysaccharides, glycoproteins, and caffeic acid derivatives.

Astragalus Root Extract (Astragalus Membranaceous): Astragalus (Astragalus membranaceous) has been used in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for thousands of years. It was often combined with other herbs to strengthen the body against disease. Astragalus is called an adaptogen, meaning it helps protect the body against various stresses, including physical, mental, or emotional stress.

Astragalus may help protect the body from diseases such as cancer and diabetes. It contains antioxidants, which protect cells against damage. Astragalus is used to protect and support the immune system, preventing colds and upper respiratory infections, lowering blood pressure, treating diabetes, and protecting the liver.

Astragalus has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. People sometimes use it on the skin for wound care. In addition, studies have shown that astragalus has antiviral properties and stimulates the immune system, suggesting that it may help prevent colds.

IP6 (Inositol Hexaphosphate): IP6 is a naturally occurring compound found primarily in grains and legumes. The health benefits of a diet high in fiber seem to be due to the high levels of IP6 in the fiber. Purified IP6 offers several advantages over dietary IP-6. Its rapid absorption compared to dietary IP6 ensures much superior bio availability. This in turn exerts significant benefits to the support of the immune system.
